CENTRE INFORMATION
Bauer Street Community Children's Centre is a not-for-profit organisation providing quality long day care to meet the needs of families in our community.
We offer care for children from 6 weeks to 5 years.
PARENT MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE
Bauer Street is run by a Management Committee consisting of parents, the Administrator, Director and interested community members.
Parent involvement is not only encouraged, it is essential to the survival of ours and all Community Centres.
Members of the Committee meet monthly and work together to make decisions about the Centre. Parent representation on the Committee ensures that all decisions made are in the best interests of the children and families.

HOURS OF OPERATION
The Centre is open 51 weeks per year. We operate Monday to Friday, between 7:30am and 5:30pm.
The Centre is closed for the week between Christmas and New Year and on all Public Holidays.
LICENSING & ACCREDITATION
The Centre is licensed under the Child Care Act 2002 and must comply with the Act and Child Care Regulations 2003. Licensing, Regulations and Accreditation play an important role in how the Centre operates and guide staff and management in policy making, health and safety issues, planning and programming, staffing requirements and all areas that impact on the safety and well-being of children, families and staff.
Licensing takes places every 2 years.

Accreditation is an on-going process with formal validation every 2.5 years.
The Centre is Accreditated by the National Child Care Accreditation Council under the Quality Improvement and Accreditation system. Bauer Street has moved through the Accreditation review (July 2008) and waits for formal acknowledgement that is following the Quality Areas and Principles of Quality Care.
